Slotorado safety tools
Responsible gambling Slotorado is managed through six account-level controls. Casino play carries a measurable risk of financial harm, and for a segment of players that risk becomes acute — compulsive gambling is recognised as an addictive disorder with documented consequences for finances, relationships, and mental health. The tools on this page are available from the account settings panel without contacting support. Using them before a problem develops is more effective than trying to apply them after losses have accumulated.
Available controls and their ranges
The table below maps every configurable tool to its value range, the location where it is set, and when each change takes effect. Limit increases are intentionally delayed to prevent impulsive upward adjustments during a session.
| Tool | Value Range | Where to Set | When It Takes Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Any amount; daily, weekly, or monthly period | Account settings → Responsible gambling | Decrease: immediate; Increase: after cooling-off delay |
| Loss limit | Any amount; daily, weekly, or monthly period | Account settings → Responsible gambling | Decrease: immediate; Increase: after cooling-off delay |
| Session limit | Not published — verify in settings panel | Account settings → Responsible gambling | Immediate for next session |
| Reality check | Not published — verify in settings panel | Account settings → Responsible gambling | From next session start |
| Cooling-off | Short-term block | Account settings → Responsible gambling | Immediate |
| Self-exclusion | Minimum 6 months (typical); permanent available | Account settings or via support | Immediate; cannot be reversed before expiry |
Deposit, loss and session limits
A deposit limit caps total transfers into the account within a defined period. Setting it below what a session might otherwise consume is the most direct way to contain exposure. The period resets at the same time each cycle — a daily limit resets at midnight, a weekly limit on the same day each week.
A loss limit operates on net losses rather than deposits. Once the losing threshold is reached for the period, play stops regardless of the balance remaining. A player with a €100 daily loss limit cannot continue once €100 in net losses is recorded, even if the account shows a positive figure from earlier deposits.
A session limit sets a hard clock. When the time runs out, the session ends and the player is logged out. No extension is possible once the clock is running.
Reducing any of the three limits takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit requires waiting out a cooling-off delay, which the operator sets.
Reality check intervals
A reality check interval is a notification displayed on screen at fixed intervals during play. It pauses the game and shows three figures: time elapsed in the current session, net result for the session, and total amount wagered. The player must acknowledge the notification before play resumes.
The notification does not end the session — that is the session limit’s role. It creates a moment of deliberate pause where the player reviews numbers rather than continuing uninterrupted. The session timer runs from login and continues across game changes, measuring cumulative time rather than time on any single title. Perception of elapsed time during active play is unreliable, and the timer corrects that gap.
Cooling-off and self-exclusion periods
A cooling-off duration period blocks deposits and play for the chosen duration; it ends automatically without any action from the player or support. Self-exclusion period imposes the same access block but requires a support request to reactivate after expiry — it does not reopen automatically. Permanent closure has no reactivation path. During any exclusion period, the operator removes the account from all promotional communications.
| Option | Typical Duration | Cancellable Before Expiry | Account Reactivation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cooling-off | 24 hours | No | Automatic at expiry |
| Cooling-off | 7 days | No | Automatic at expiry |
| Cooling-off | 30 days | No | Automatic at expiry |
| Self-exclusion | 6 months (minimum) | No | Requires support request after expiry |
| Self-exclusion | Extended period | No | Requires support request after expiry |
| Permanent closure | Indefinite | No | Not available |
Indicators worth acting on
These patterns are listed without qualification. They are not edge cases.
Depositing beyond the session’s planned amount. Returning to the cashier after a losing session to recover losses with a new deposit. Extending play time past the point originally intended. Lying to people close to you about how much time or money the account has consumed. Using credit to fund deposits. Playing at work, at night, or in place of other activities. Feeling agitated or anxious when not playing. Thinking about the account during activities unrelated to gambling.
Any one of these signals warrants using the tools above. Multiple signals present at the same time warrant reaching out to one of the organisations below.
Independent support in the Netherlands
Three organisations provide free, confidential support in Dutch. All three operate independently of the casino industry.
- Loket Kansspel — 0800 022 55 44 (free, anonymous, available daily). The national gambling helpline for Dutch players, staffed by trained advisors. Calls do not affect account status.
- AGOG — agog.nl — An information and referral organisation providing self-assessment tools and guidance for players and their families dealing with gambling-related harm.
- Gamblers Anonymous Nederland — ga-nederland.nl — Peer support meetings held across the Netherlands. No professional referral required to attend. Meeting schedules and locations are listed on the site.
Contacting any of these organisations does not trigger any action on the Slotorado account.
